[BLACK BOX] - Windows, Unreadable text in dialog boxes Photo AI

Hi, I am using Topaz Photo AI on my W11 PC in dark modus.
Since last update the dialog boxes are almost unreadable:
balck text on dark-grey background…

Hope this can be solved easily…

Hi.

To change the colour scheme goto the Edit Menu and choose Preferences

Once the Preferences Menu appears click on the General Section if not already highlighted you’ll see Colour Scheme with a drop down simply click on the drop down list and select Light

Finally click on Save at the bottom of the open window

Hope this helps

Hi,
just tried it, but the message box remains dark-grey with black text…
Even worse: after restart the program won’t run at all!
A restart in administrator mode was required. But again he message box dark.

Changed the color theme back to dark (easier fot the eyes). Message box still dark…
Than restart again: nope, won’t start. Issue restarting after color change?

Back to administrator mode and it works. But even stranger now:
Photo AI won’t run normally, can’t be used as plugin for Lightroom etc.
[Just for your info: it won’t run at all in normal mode, something changed
by the first time I achanged the color theme…!]

Even after a restart of my PC Photo AI won’t run normally and also not
as plugin from LrC.

I suspect something in a settings file is changed. I have to re-install I think.

Hope you can solve this issue!
Best regards, Dick

Perhaps having a look at your Windows Display Settings might help, could be overriding the Photo AI colour interface settings.

Right click anywhere on the desktop and the window appears select Display Settings

No, I am using default display settings. I can change the mode for LrC or PS without problems. For Topaz this didn’t work. I just did download 3.5.0 again, to see if a re-install helps.

But the main question was that the backgrond of the message box was dark-grey and the text black. Not a happy combination! Eithe white (light) text or light background (as used to be in earlier (trial) versions.

[But first coffee… :coffee:]

Changing the color theme after re-install (repair) till results in not corresponding pgm.
I have a lot of edit work to do, so that first. Hope you can find a solution… :facepunch:t3: :older_man:t3: :raised_hand_with_fingers_splayed:t3:

I’m not with the Topaz Support team just trying to help

Could you upload a screenshot or contact Topaz Support directly here’s the link

Topazlabs Support
support@topazlabs.com

There has been a recent update to Windows could you tell me did this issue occur before that Windows Patch Update or after.

I’m suggesting removing the Windows Patch then try again and see if this fixes your issue

If that doesn’t work you try reverting back to a previous version of Photo AI, one you know that was working before

Here’s the link for previous versions

The the link to contact Topaz Support again

Thanks

Hi, the screenshot was in the first post.

After updating to 3.5.0 the message box was dark grey as the theme color. I was asked to check if switching to the light mode, but the message box had the same (dark grey) background. But after that I was unable to start a new session with Topaz Photo AI and it also did not work as plugin.
Even repair (from an downloaded install) did not work. Now I removed the pgm and cleaned up all the residues. I will restart my PC and try to install again… Time consuming!!!

Sorry I was unable to help with your issue, please use the link in my previous reply to contact Topaz Support I’m sure they’ll be able to resolve the issue you’ve having

Andy

@dick.vogelzang - This will occur on Windows in the new version and has been flagged to the development team already and they will work on fixing this! It occurs on the message asking if you are sure you want to apply enhancements to all the selected files.

Will resolve this here once it is resolved!

Hi, just shut down the PC so reply from my cell phone. Glad that the issue will be solved. I think this was also with the message box when you want to close files, but that must be the same routine…
Thanx and looking forward to the next update… :pray:t3:

Standalone v3.5.1, running on Win11
After editing, when I “Close Image”, the dialog box is so dark that I almost cannot read the warning text.
Almost impossible
“Are you sure you want to close this image? Any unsaved changes will be lost.”
The Close / Cancel buttons are fine.
File is JPEG
I did not notice this before latest version update.

Feel free to inquire further.

Photo AI since one of the last updates shows a black box for answering (cancel - apply) when I use “apply recommendations” in a pic. I’m calling it from LrC.

Same with me.
Selecting a different colorscheme in Topaz AI 3.5.2, light, dark, or system, popup screen is black text on black.
Using Windows 11 24H2 (build 26100.3323), Topaz AI 3.5.2

I can not see the information warning screen. Please see the screenshot. Thanks

IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE:

TO CREATE A FORUM TOPIC

  • Give as many details as you can on the issue you are experimenting.
  • Workflow steps you do, if using the standalone or plugin. File Type used is RAW or JPEG?*

@gracephotographystl i merged your post here as this is a known issue. We will post here once there is a resolution for this.

At the moment this error message of yours asks if you are sure you want to apply the enhancements to all the files you have selected. You can Cancel to avoid any changes, or Apply if you want to continue and apply all your changes to all selected images!
