To remove sharpening “auto-selection” and invoking global sharpening is clumsy as it has to be done through several steps for each individual image. Nature shots do not take well to selective sharpening so a simpler selection-bypass is needed.
How are you enabling global sharpening? The simplest way to enable it is to open the Sharpen filter and toggle Subject only off.
