Arbitrary Limit on Maximum Processes

Why does TVAI limit me to 4 processes in parallel per application instance? I’m using a Mac Studio and have discovered it can easily handle 8 processes of upscaling 480 to 1080 using Artemis. The thing is, I have to faff around starting another instance of the app in order to get more than 4 at once. Please, WHY only 4 per app instance? Especially given the preferences have up to 6 as an option in Max Processes.

Update - I’ve heard back from support that 4 parallel processes is a hard-coded maximum per app instance. Apparently it’s for stability reasons.

Well, at least I can start a new instance and run more in parallel. I’ve found the total frame rate levels off at around 30fps at 6 processes in parallel on my Mac Studio when upscaling DVD to 1080.
