I have a 2 monitor setup. If I move the Photo AI window to the second screen and close the application after, then Photo AI will not properly start again. Starting it will open a blank window with the remark “not responding”, this does not change even after hours. The task manager shows about 4% CPU Load for the application and 370 MB RAM usage. It can only be stopped / closed using the task manager.
To temporary fix it I have removed the registry value “windowGeometry” from key “Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Photo AI”
After that it starts without any issue.
Steps to reproduce issue:
- Step 1: Move the open Photo AI windows to the second monitor, perform work with it or not
- Step 2: close the Application
- Step 3: Start it again
It is not the first time this happens, last time with an older version I simply downloaded a newer version and then it worked again. So I assume the bug is existing since several versions.

I have uploaded the system info
Thanks for sending in that information.
I want to see if updating your GPU driver will resolve the problem, as there is a more up-to-date driver that has been released.
Please use the following link to update your driver: NVIDIA | GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER | Driver Update
After the update, let me know if you are still experiencing the problem.
Unfortunately the graphics driver update didn’t change anything regarding the issue.
Could also try to delete the Registry file for Photo AI. These affect Windows display.
I have deleted the whole “Topaz Photo AI” key. After that I have started the application again.
Then closed it and started it again on the first monitor, no issue there.
After moving the window to the second monitor and closing the application the error was back again. Also the removal of the “windowGeometry” value did help as before.
Not sure if it helps, but moving the windows less then half to the second monitor did not trigger the issue. I have to move it more then approximately 50% of the window size to the second monitor so that the problem occurs after restart.
So maybe 2 4K Monitors are a problem?
