When I process 24-bit B&W images (aka mono) through Photo AI, it adds colored edges to some features. I can convert the image back to mono, but it would be nice if Photo AI detected if an input image is mono, and maintained mono at the output.
Yes I have had that on some of my images, it added mainly light blue artefacts.
Support said convert it back again to black and white. Not sure that would work on some images. As the black and white conversion changes many things, it is not just a grayscale conversion. There is often a lot of work on layers, after the B&W conversion.
Sharpen seems to be the issue. It tends to be on white edges.
Toned images have the same issue.
This never used to happen, I tested it on an older Topaz version.
Think AI is to blame.
Hi Ray,
I’m seeing color artifacts when I just do noise reduction. If I open the image in Photoshop and turn up the color saturation to max, there are massive color splotches all over the image. It’s not a big deal, I just convert it back to mono and all is good. I just wish Topaz would figure this out automatically.
Best,
Dan
