Happened today after update to 3.2.1. Annoying message and unnecessary action for each picture I process from Lightroom. Message: “some model files need to be re-downloaded before image can be processed”. It does performs time consuming download FOR EACH IMAGE — UNACCEPTABLE.

Steps to reproduce issue:

  1. Request to edit image from lightroom
    2.Observe unnecessary message and action: :“some model files need to be re-downloaded before image can be processed”
  2. Happened every time for new image.

Topaz Photo AI [v3.2.1] on [Mac]. Latest update

This error means something blocked/prevented all the AI models from downloading during installation.

Here are the steps to follow to resolve this issue:

  • Important: Make sure you turn off your firewall, antivirus, and VPN (you can turn them back on once the installation process is done)

  • You can download a new installer from your account’s download page | Topaz Labs | My Account | Download Page

Once you download and open this new version, you should be able to click on the blue 'Activate ’ button and log in with the email address associated with your Topaz Labs Account and password.

Once authenticated, please try the same model again and let me know if you get the error.

  • VPN or network not a problem
  • during upgrade all files were downloaded
  • restarting of the application fixed the problem, so I think it is your bug related to the cache synchronization
