After upscaling different colors are being produced in certain areas. Mainly dark areas or the hair

I wasn’t sure if this was exactly the right area to ask about this, but as mentioned above in certain areas, mostly dark areas or in the hair region there are extra colors being introduced as well as details being removed. (Such as the trees in the background.) I will attach two images below for reference. The upscaled vs the original. (The first image is the original & the second is the upscaled.) If you look where his hair is, you’ll see purple, blue, green & as well as the background loses a lot of detail. Overall the quality is better which is what is what I was going for, but is there no way to fix these issues? As for the original, it looks well, normal.

I was wondering how I could go about fixing these issues? Or more importantly, fixing them across the board. Upscaling from 1080p to 4k mainly. I’ll also send an image of the model settings and included my system profile and my logs for Support. If anyone can help with this, it’d be appreciated.

The colors being introduced are most likely from the AI Model trying to interpret the existing pixels with the settings you applied and it is over-correcting and introducing the color shift. Try dialing back the sliders from the 100 level and see which one brings down the colors issue.

Alright, I’ll try that.

It seems to have something to do with Fix compression. I Turned that down to 0 and still had some of the same colors, but much less of them. I’ll keep trying new things.

Alright. I think I’ve overall fixed the issue.

Screenshot after a new passthrough. It seems to have dialed down the color issue quite a bit.

Issue fixed.
