After downloading updates yesterday, when I open the program it says it is downloading “models” then proceeds to instantly close. Right now, I am without functional noise reduction. Help!
Steps to reproduce issue:
- Step Open the program (and it starts looking for models)
- Step Try to browse for an image to work on (this is when it closes down.
- Step Don’t need a step three . . . .
Topaz Photo AI [v1.x.x] on [Windows/Mac]
This error means something blocked/prevented all the AI models from downloading during installation.
Here are the steps to follow to resolve this issue:
- Important: Make sure you turn off your firewall, antivirus, and VPN (you can turn them back on once the installation process is done)
- You can download a new installer from your account’s download page | Topaz Labs | My Account | Download Page
Once you download and open this new version, you should be able to click on the blue 'Activate ’ button and log in with your email that is assocaited with your Topaz Labs account and password.
Once authenticated, please try the same model again and let me know if you get the error.
Re-downloading and installing, which looked like it downloaded all the models correctly, did not fix the crash. When I do PS/Filter/Topaz Photo AI, it loads the app, indicates some additional models need to be downloaded, gets about 1/3 done, and crashes every time.
I’d like to get some more information to help troubleshoot the problem you are having.
Could you send us your computer’s full system profile?
Also if you can, please try to recreate this crash in Topaz Photo AI, then go to Help > Open Log Folder, please send me all of the files within that folder. You should be able to attach them directly as a response to this thread.
If you would prefer you can securely submit your files(s) to my Dropbox using the link below. Make sure to send me a note to let me know you sent something.
