Add batch dust and scratch removal in app and in CLI, it’s useful to be able to do this in batch/via CLI
Hi.
Here’s the official line about the Dust & Scratches filter and Batch Processing
The Dust and Scratch Enhancement is not available for batch processing. This Enhancement requires manual settings to be chosen in a one by one image editing workflow.
Please allow me to be a little more clearer about their explanation
The Dust & Scratches filter in Topaz Photo AI isn’t available for Batch Processing because, it’s designed to work as a Fully Automated Dust Removal Model That’s meant to deliver strong automated results
But, that also means it doesn’t offer the kind of adjustments or flexibility you typically get with a Batch Processing workflow.
In addition, Topaz recommends using this enhancement early on in your editing workflow, and then following up with the Healing Brush for any remaining trouble spots.
So basically, as the Dust & Scratch Model processes each image individually, it’s not currently optimized for the kind of streamlined, repeatable workflow that batch processing requires.
Having said that, if you’re working with a large set of images, it might be worth processing them first as Topaz recommends one at a time with the Dust & Scratch filter, then secondly, applying other Batch Processing Enhancements afterward.
Yes I know, a bit more time consuming to start with but, it could save you hours of manual cleanup later.
Hope this helps
Hi And-e,
Thanks for replying, I am aware this is how it works, I want to batch apply it and I think it is useful, hence why I have requested batch processing/CLI for this.
