701 crashing on startup

I’m using Topaz Video AI 7.1.0 on macOS 15.6 (Sonoma, build 24G84) on an Intel Mac (10-core Xeon). The app crashes immediately on launch unless I turn off Wi-Fi. When I do, I get to the login screen — but then can’t sign in unless I reconnect Wi-Fi, which causes the crash again.

Crash report shows a segmentation fault in the QNetworkAccessManager thread:

Termination Reason: Namespace SIGNAL, Code 11 Segmentation fault: 11
Crashed Thread: 55 QNetworkAccessManager thread
Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x00000000f0000001

This appears to be a network-related bug on macOS 15.6. Any workaround or patch available?

Hi Lucas.

Your system specs are out of date here’s a link for System Requirements and a bit of information from Topaz

Please Note : Intel-based Mac systems are not officially supported beyond Video AI v6.0.3. Though some systems may run later releases, 6.0.4 and later versions may introduce system instability.

Hope this helps

The team has put together an alpha build for Intel Macs to try and use to help resolve this issue for now.
