7.4.1 bug: preview renders twice in a row

When I select “Run Recovery” the rendering image process now happens twice, back-to-back. The bar will fill up while the counter runs down. Then when it should be done and show the preview, the program instead starts rendering the image from the beginning again. Face recovery slider is off.

Exactly the same thing happens with me. I’ve tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling. Even wiped the registry.

This happens with all modes, not just recovery, but recovery is where it is most noticeable – after waiting half an hour, it goes back to the beginning, and I wait another half an hour. Absolutely maddening glitch.

Happens with any pic, any mode. It renders, then immediately renders again from scratch (“back to back” like the original poster said). Something is definitely broken in the cache where it doesn’t realize it literally did the exact same thing, and goes on to do it again – two times in a row.

v7.4.1. 128GB RAM, NVIDIA RTX 5000 Ada generation GPU (laptop also has an intel integrated GPU but that isn’t used for the program, thankfully).

The bug absolutely does not happen in v7.3.2 under any condition. One interesting thing to note is that in v7.3.2 and earlier I always had to enable sRGB fallback in the display because for some reason it couldn’t figure out my native colorspace and made everything look washed out. v7.4.1 fixed this, but introduced more breaking bugs (like the double-render phenomenon), so I’m back on v7.3.2 with sRGB fallback enabled again. (I can actually boast “twice the performance!” for Recovery mode this way! ;D ).
