5.2.0 Preview files are deleted

I have now tested 3 demo versions and all have problems with the preview files.
5.1.0, 5.1.4 delete the preview files when another preview is displayed.
5.2.0 Preview files are deleted when changing a project or closing the program. So the project is useless.

I had already asked if this is only the case with the demo versions, this was denied and written that it is a bug that is being worked on !?
Sorry, but this is unbelievable, how many versions are needed for such an easy-to-find error?
Why are new versions released with such a serious error? Hard to believe.

Are you able to share the logs from the app?

To gather logs, please select Help > Logging > Get Logs for Support and attach the zip file to your reply.

Thank you for asking.
1.) The last Demo Version installed, opened and a “Test” project created.
2.) Preview created with Proteus and Iris and project saved.
3.) Created a new project “Test 2” and created a preview with Proteus and Iris. Project saved and project “Test” opened again, both preview files are no longer available.
4.) Opened project “Test 2”, exactly the same, no preview files available.

I have looked at the log file, interesting places are probably “Going to delete path:”

Edit: Found a link to version 5.0.4 here in the forum and tested it. With this version there are no problems with the preview files!

When you close the app the previews are cleared from the current version, this is due to a change in the backend that was made to release the lock on the original input file.

A file lock is much more preferable to losing the previews!

Thanks for the answer, but what does a file lock have to do with deleting the preview files? Will this be fixed?

When I save a project, I also want to be able to save my various settings and open them again later.
The preview files are already deleted if I only change the project. What are projects for?

@markramsei I was suprised too, to find out that’s an incredibble fault…
loose so much time.

The previews were fixed in v5.2.1 patch release.

That’s not right! Even in version 5.2.2, all preview files are deleted as soon as you change the project or close the program.
Do you know your own program?

My apologies I misunderstood and thought this was in relation to the previous error where previews were being cleared when still in the app. A message has been sent to the dev team to look into this and see what is going on and when a patch can be implemented to keep the previews assigned to the project.
