start with an image … maybe remove the background … try a preset … now look at what new presets have emerged … try a couple … tweak as required …create something you kinda like… go back and try and remember what you did … save (with a title that will hopefully mean something if you decide much later to try this on another image) … grab another similar image and try the same process (good thing is can go to Recent category in left panel for the presets 
… and maybe add a bit more or try something else … this is my often journey with Studio
