Topaz Photo AI [v1.x.x] on [Windows/Mac]
PhotoAI 2.1.4 has become extraordinarily slow with no changes in my rig. I have to turn off Faces because it can’t keep them where they belong: on their owners. Faces get placed to the left of their owners.
I click on the update 2.2 but it doesn’t seem to do anything even though I shut down both LR & PS as requested.
Topaz Photo AI v 2.2.0 became so slow that can be used any longer. Macbook Pro with M1 processor. Worked like a cham before, but suddenly, with the version upgrade, became unusable. I did uninstall and re install it, but nothing changed.
I was constantly barraged with that damn splash screen about updating with the current version, that I continually ignored, and the program worked fine. Finally today I agree to update and now the program is completely useless!!! Trying to edit just one file, and the system has taken almost half an hour to “re download models before image can be processed”
I’ve got a 300 mbps connection. This processed used to take about 3 seconds, and now this!!!
I was able to download and install PhotoAI 2.2 directly from TopazLabs site, but slow performance remains a constant problem. No other photo editing software seems to be affected. For example DxO PureRAW 3.0 still uses about 30 secs to process a Sony A7R V raw file.
Also please make sure your GPU drivers are up to date from the respective suppliers websites. Currently there is an update to NVIDIA RTX studio drivers available.
Right, GeForce 546.33 for 3060. In addition to abnormally slow performance and disembodied, double faces, it significantly misrecognizes subject and brush is so slow that it hinders correct painting of subject. LR and PS by way of contrast recognize subject as I see it.
